The adventure is about to begin
Six weeks ago now...
... for 136 of us, a lot changed.
There were heavy decisions to make, habits to lose and an important chapter to close.
Six days from now...
... for me, another chapter's about to open.

While some of my classmates, comrades and companions might go to university, study psychology, biology or economy, travel around the world and work for their living, experiencing 5 different cultures, 6 different languages, 7 different countries in 8 months, I myself wasn't really keen on either of those two options.
I could not imagine being so grown up already, going to university and paving the way for a future career.
But then again I also could not imagine being completely on my own, hundreds and thousands of kilometers away from home, not knowing anyone and changing location like my underwear.
So my A-levels got closer every week and I had no idea what I wanted to do.
The thought of making a final decision, a decision that would influence my whole life, was scary and I didn't want to tie myself down.
After I've applied to an au pair program in the UK, which was one of the things I at least could imagine doing, they didn't respond to me for an entire two months.
So I kind of lost that idea and didn't have a clue what to do after school once again.
Most people, friends and family, just told me to wait for a few days, weeks, months.
"You'll figure something out, maybe you just need time. Also you're still so young, it doesn't matter if you lose a year looking for the one thing you'd like to do."
Turns out, I really just had to wait.
For pretty much exactly 2 months...
That's the time it took for my au pair agency to sight and process my files and get in touch with me.
After that, it all went very quick.
I received quite a good amount of offers of host families, answered two and actually the first one I had a video chat with, liked me a lot and offered me to be a part of their family for the next year.
So six days from now, I am heading off to London and to a new chapter of my life.
Six days from now, a new adventure is about to begin.
